This evening is all about the invasion of the moths. The big guys are in the beginning of a mass hatching and are everywhere right now, they seem to congregate around the tops of isolated tall trees and are fluttering all evening for the last two days. I expected and saw a flurry of bats starting the chase and expect my UV light trap will be filled for a next few days. We are expecting a rain flurry around mother's day and I wonder if this is affecting the insect behavior. I have noticed the bullfrogs and crickets have upped their calling, too.
This afternoon we put up a few hummingbird feeders for Mother's day, the birds took less than 6 hours to find it, and start feeding...
