let the fight begin

On the ditch today there seems to be a wider than usual variety of birds. It could also be the birds are more active, there is a lot of fighting and calls being made. New varieties appear to be around, such as hummingbirds, but I haven't caught a good glimpse of one yet. There is a peacock calling. I think it is bird mating season. There are birds fighting and a couple of sparrows were eating the midges in the eaves yesterday. Not many insects at the lights, a few moth, mostly those parasite wasps. Very little ditch activity right now, no fish, the frogs are skittish, no turtles seen. There is a lot of rabbits and saw coyotes on the road last night.
