Scorcher

The jumping spiders have very large eyes for hunting, and unlike most spiders are very agile and move all the time. AS long as they don't scare you, they are very entertaining to watch.

This is a picture of a cow farm. But in this case, the "cows" are aphids being milked for the honeydew they excrete from their butts. The ants drink this juice and keep the aphids safe from predators. Because aphids reproduce by cloning themselves, they colony can grow very fast in the right conditions. When I tried to hold the plant still with my hand, do get a better photo, the ant rushed over to fend me off.

Flowers like this nightshade are very common right now, however they are pretty cool if you take the extra few miutes to get a new perspective and look closer. Many of the cactus flowers right now have a wild bee snoozing inside the flower, protecting their turf from other bees.

These lappet moths turn up from time to time, and have an amazing amount of "fur" on their upper bodies.

A couple of months ago, this young owl was learning to fly near the nest, but is still practicing his fierce look. Now fledged, I think this dumb owl I saw recently on the ditch is likely the same one, with the fierce look perfected, now if he can just learn to sit in a tree quietly...
