The evening is filled with the sounds of crickets and other insect noises.
There are flowers and the obligatory pollinators.
The cactus flowers are some of the prettiest, but there are many other desert flowers, of course.
I was surprised to see this circada out in the desert.
This dunce was being watched by its mother, but hadn't learnt to be scared of people. we couldn't have been 10 feet from it.
This little muskrat was an amazingly fast swimmer. Didn't like being in the beam of a flashlight, of course.
